Pupillary distance (PD), refers to the distance between the centres of your pupils (those black dots in the middle of your eyes), and is measured in millimeters. Having an accurate PD ensures that you’re looking through the optimal spot in your lenses for clear vision.

Typically, PD is written as a single value, such as 62 mm, but occasionally it may be presented as two separate values (R31 L32).

We need your PD measurement so that you can have the best vision with your new glassess.

Please ask your optician for your PD measurement.

Can Glasses+ measure my PD?

  • Stand in front of a well-lit area with a plain background.

  • Hold a typical loyalty card horizontally against your forehead, positioning it just on your eyebrows.

  • With the card held firmly in place, ask someone to take a photo of you from the front.

  • Send the photo to us right after you have placed your order, we will calculate the PD for you.

Can I measure my PD?

  • Use a millimeter ruler for the most accurate measurements.

  • Position yourself in a well-lit area with a mirror in front of you. This will help you align the ruler properly and see your pupils clearly.

  • Hold the ruler horizontally against your eyebrows.

  • Close right eye. Position the '0' mark of the ruler at the center of left pupil.

  • Open your right eye and look straight ahead. Close left eye.

  • Look in the mirror and note the measurement where the center of your other pupil aligns with the ruler. This is your pupillary distance.
